4 sectors to drive sales of Motorola
By David Tan, March 15, 2010-03-19
Mohd Rauf Nasir … ‘We will leverage on our partners in Malaysia.’
It intends to increase spending for the sectors in line with GDP growth
GEORGE TOWN: Motorola Technology Sdn Bhd expects the public safety, logistics, retail, and education sectors to drive sales of the group’s enterprise mobility solutions.
Motorola president Mohd Rauf Nasir said that as the country had posted a 4.5% gross domestic product (GDP) growth in the fourth quarter of 2009, GDP growth for 2010 was expected to exceed the projected 2% to 3%.
The spending for the four sectors would correspondingly increase this year, he said.
“Our two-way radios, professional commercial radios, mobile computing devices, advanced data capture devices, and wireless network solutions are among the sought-after products used respectively in the public safety sector, logistics, retail, and education sectors.
“Starting 2010, the facility in Penang has been tasked with marketing mobile computing and advanced capturing data devices in Malaysia and the Asia-Pacific.
“We will leverage on our partners in Malaysia to promote the sales of these products,” Rauf said.
